The Quest was written by my daughter, Anna Bodine, just as she turned 12 years old. She participated in the NaNoWriMo’s Young Writer’s Program this past November, which is set-up to motivate young writers to complete an entire book in 30 days. The Quest is the fruit of her labor.
In the book, The Quest, three best friends get together for a sleepover that they will never forget. Created for children ages 8 to 12, The Quest follows Marie, Abigail, and Nicolette as they journey to the land of Quest Brooke through a portal door that magically appears just outside of Marie’s clubhouse.
A panther named Black-Hawk sends the girls on a mission to rescue the master from his evil brother, who seeks to reign over Quest Brooke. When you read this book you will come across other colorful characters, such as Destiny the fairy. The girls also have to travel across strange lands, which have funny names. Be prepared to be surprised at the end of this short story. I know I was.
The book is also illustrated by Anna’s friend Abby Gustke, who is developing her talents as a Photoshop artist. It was sweet of her to lend her talents, and create a cover based on my daughter's three main characters. The book was published through CreateSpace.com, which is also where the book can be purchased. Currently, the book is selling for $5.99, and contains a total of 25 written pages.
Stay tuned for my daughter’s next book, which will be called The Lost Medallion.
