For the Pop-Up Book Fans
600 Black Spots
By David A. Carter
This is a really great book for lovers of the pop-up book and modern, abstract art alike. You could spend hours with your child counting the many spots as well delighting over the intricate cut-outs and folds, it is an amazingly well-made made work of art. This is probably no the book to give to a toddler who will most likely tear it up in no time. But for the older kid who enjoys a visual puzzle and some whimsical poetry, it is a lot of fun. Carter is also the author of Blue 2 and One Red Dot, also pop-ups. His work is worth checking out and a great gift idea for the holidays.
